The Georgia Basin Action Plan (GBAP) is a multi-partnered initiative working to improve sustainability in the Georgia Basin. GBAP began as the Georgia Basin Ecosystem Initiative a five year program in 1998, the GBEI was renewed as GBAP in 2003.
As GBAP enters into its sixth year the initiative is working to disseminate results and enhance awareness and understanding of the initiative and its products among partners, other government departments, Coast Salish Nations, environmental non-governmental organizations, community groups, the general public and media by profiling various projects.
Key GBAP Activities:
The GBAP partnership completed many projects ranging from research studies, planning initiatives, monitoring to outreach and education. These projects can be grouped under the following four key areas:
